Voters to choose between four Arlington County Board candidates

Get ready for more yard signs, voters. A deadline just passed, and four candidates have qualified to run for the now-vacant seat on the Arlington County Board: Democrat Alan Howze, Independent John Vihstadt, Independent Green Janet Murphy and Independent Stephen Holbrook. Libertarian Evan Bernick dropped out Tuesday morning and endorsed Vihstadt.

The wannabe successors to Chris Zimmerman had to collect 125 signatures and turn them into the Arlington elections offce by noon Tuesday, which they did.  Now the special election season begins: the election itself is April 8.

There likely will be several debates or forums for the candidates, including the March 4 one sponsored by the Arlington Civic Federation.
