Craig Ferguson weighs in on reading: ‘It will be Oprah’s Tweet Club’

Hundreds of readers have written to me about my story about the digital brain, about how the Internet is apparently forming new circuity causing us to skim and scan novels in the same way we skim and scan the internet. There have been more “me too” tweets than I can count. Last night, the story hit the late night crowd, with Craig Ferguson using it to for his ENTIRE MONOLOGUE.

Oprah’s Book Club will become “Oprah’s Tweet Club,” he said.

Nice line, Craig. Wish I’d thought of it.

“Books will be loaded with pop-up ads,” he added.

Nice line, Craig. Wish I’d thought of it.

He and his skeleton side-kick even offered new, shorter titles of classic books for your scanning pleasure. “A Tale of One City.” “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Fresno.” “Twelve Shades of Gray.”
