SAT scores at most Montgomery County high schools above national average

Average SAT scores for the Class of 2011 were down nationally and in most Washington area school districts, including Montgomery County, one of the nation’s top school systems.

We reported countywide scores last month. To recap: Montgomery County seniors scored 1637, down from 1647 on the 2400-point test. But they still scored 145 points higher than the combined national score of 1500 and the average state score of 1492.

Here’s a closer look at how Montgomery County high
(bigstock)
schools fared.

Eighteen out of 25 high schools came in above the national average, including eight that surpassed 1650 and four that scored an average 1800 or higher. Seven schools fell below the national average.
