Should teachers be allowed to earn extra money at school?

A lot of teachers look for ways to earn money outside their day jobs, particularly after a few rounds of salary freezes. One elementary physical education teacher in Montgomery County has come under scrutiny for a private children’s fitness program he was running at his school. The story ran in today’s paper.

Many parents loved the program, but school officials say there’s a conflict of interest in charging students for tutoring on school property.
