DeEvening Links: Politician in jail

Where Pete Ross will be spending the night. (MARVIN JOSEPH/TWP - THE WASHINGTON POST)
As he wished, shadow senator candidate Pete Ross was sentenced to jail today — a one-day sentence which is now underway. That, Tim Craig reports at D.C. Wire, is somewhat less than the 90 days Ross wanted. But even such a modest statement of high principle/political stunt has its price: According to DCist’s Martin Austermuhle, Magistrate Judge Frederick J. Sullivan told Ross a jail stay costs $125 a night.
