There might not be plans to build a soccer stadium on Buzzard Point, but it turns out there are plans to build a velodrome — you know, for bicycles. Competition cyclist and new DCist editor Martin Austermuhle has the scoop: “According to David Butterworth, president of Pennsylvania-based Major League Cycling, his group is about two weeks away from finalizing the lease for a 1.5-acre parcel of land where the velodrome would go. ... ‘It’s just a great market for cycling,’ he said.”
