Gray: No more “bully pulpit” for D.C.

Pulpits are for priests, don’t you know. (Ricky Carioti - WASHINGTON POST)
Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) today signed a long-awaited bill that takes steps to prevent youth bullying.

But it’s not just about the kids, Gray said. Tim Craig reports at D.C. Wire:

During the ceremony, Gray stressed it’s also time for adults do more to set the tone that bullying is not acceptable. To prove his point, Gray said he no longer wants to hear the term “bully pulpit.”
“Why would we honor a bully by giving it a pulpit?” said Gray, in a serious tone. “You won’t hear me using it. ... There will no longer be a bully pulpit in the District of Columbia.”

Dare I say, fabulous use of the bully pulpit browbeater balcony there.
