Where the D.C. power outages are today

Here’s the latest map of Pepco outages, shown by Zip code as of 7:30 a.m. this morning, based on data furnished to elected officials:

(Mike DeBonis — The Washington Post. Map via Google Fusion Tables; data from Pepco.)

The hardest-hit neighborhoods in upper Northwest have seen some relief since Monday, but one in four households there remain without power: In 20015 — Chevy Chase and points north — 27 percent of Pepco customers remain out, down from 64 percent a day ago. In 20016 — American University Park and Spring Valley — the outage rate has gone from 57 percent out to 23 percent.

Other Zips with more than 10 percent of customers still out as of this morning are 20007 (Georgetown, Burleith, Glover Park and Foxhall) with 15 percent, 20017 (Brookland, Michigan Park and Fort Totten) with 12 percent, and 20020 (Anacostia, Fairlawn, Hillcrest and Penn Branch) with 15 percent.

Pepco is standing by its “global” prediction that it expects to restore 90 percent of systemwide customers by Friday night.
