D.C. fixes sinkhole large enough to swallow child

Want to get a hole fixed in D.C.? One way to get quick action, it turns out, is to place a small child inside of it.

After those tweets appeared Wednesday night, the D.C. transportation department jumped into action. According to spokesman Reggie Sanders, a crew was on the scene by 10:40 a.m. Thursday, with a patch in place by noon. A “final restoration” has been scheduled, he said.
