Bryce Harper ‘fine’ after spraining ankle

Results came back negative from X-rays taken of top prospect Bryce Harper’s sprained left ankle, according
to a Nationals source. The Nationals listed Harper as “day-to-day” after he had to be carted off the field during a Nationals minor league intrasquad game. The results of the X-rays confirmed their training staff’s initial belief that he had not suffered any significant damange to his ankle.

After the Nationals 7-2 victory over the Cardinals today, Manager Jim Riggleman showed little concern about Harper’s injury. “From the little information I got, he’s fine,” Riggleman said. “He just rolled his ankle a little, and he’s fine.”
