Danny Espinosa, Ivan Rodriguez in the Nationals lineup, for now

Both Ivan Rodriguez (left calf strain) and Danny Espinosa (right foot contusion) are in the Nationals lineup
for their game this afternoon against the Cardinals in Viera. That’s at least for right now, especially in the case of Rodriguez, who this morning chatted with Jim Riggleman and stretched out his calf in front of him. It seems possible the Nationals will give Rodriguez one more day to rest.

Meanwhile, Ryan Zimmerman is still resting his tweaked groin muscle. Zimmerman could resume taking grounders and batting practice this weekend, Riggleman said. Zimmerman could return to games by early next week. Today will be the fourth game Zimmerman has missed, and it seems likely he’ll at least two or three more. Still, he said today he’s not concerned in the least.

On the mound today, Jordan Zimmerman will try to add to his 11 scoreless innings this spring. Here’s the Nationals’ lineup, for now:

1. Nyjer Morgan, CF

2. Ian Desmond, SS

3. Jayson Werth, RF

4. Adam LaRoche, 1B

5. Michael Morse, LF

6. Ivan Rodriguez, C

7. Danny Espinisa, 2B

8. Alberto Gonzalez, 3B

9. Jordan Zimmermann, SP
