Danny Espinosa, Ivan Rodriguez travel with the Nationals

Danny Espinosa and Ivan Rodriguez, two Nationals starters fighting minor injuries, traveled with the team to Lake Buena Vista to play the Braves, but Rodriguez will not play and Espinosa might not, either.

Espinosa, who had to be carried off the field Tuesday night after he fouled a ball off the top of his right

foot, wants to play tonight, but Nationals trainers will be cautious. During batting practice, Espinosa wore a protective guard on his right foot, a piece of equipment he typically does not use. The fact that Espinosa even made the trip bodes well for his status.

Rodriguez will not play, but he simply wanted to be around the Nationals for the game. He said his left calf, which he strained Tuesday while warming up, is feeling better. He hopes to play tomorrow.

Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman remains out with a tweak on the right side of his groin. The earliest he could return is Sunday.
