If the Nationals lost today, it would become an awfully dismal road trip for the Nationals to begin the second half. They have already lost two series, including one to the Astros, the team with the worst record in baseball. Dropping the series in Los Angeles would give them a 3-6 record on the trip and give them a 49-52 record, their worst mark relative to .500 since June 16. “We can win the series tomorrow,” Jayson Werth said last night. “We need to get that game for sure.”
The Nationals will send Jason Marquis to the mound, which this season has led to more wins than any other starter. The Nationals are 13-6 in his 19 starts, including his victory this week in Houston, when he allowed two runs in eight innings.
As always, talk about the game right here.
