Game 103 discussion thread: Nationals vs. Marlins

With the trade deadline four days away, the Nationals clubhouse isn’t immune to the work being done by the team’s front office. Pointing at Jonny Gomes’s locker, one player said, “They’re not done yet.” There’s a sense among players that the Nationals as currently constructed won’t last much longer.

One of the players who could be gone is Livan Hernandez, tonight’s starter. The Tigers, one team in need of a back-of-the-rotation starter, have a scout in attendance tonight. The Nationals have been receiving calls on Hernandez, General Manager Mike Rizzo said, and they have told Hernandez they’re listening if any offers come in.

And, yeah, there’s also a game tonight. The Nationals are trying to snap a three-game losing streak, and they haven’t lost four straight since a five-game losing streak that ended May 25.

As always, talk about the game right here.
