The Nationals snapped their six-game losing streak last night, and if their season continues on its rollercoaster path, that’s a sign a winning streak could be in store. “I think this team has the ability to reel a bunch of game in a row,” Jayson Werth said last night. “It’s kind of a rhythm team. If we’re in a rhythm and things are going our way, we’re really tough to beat. If we’re kind of out of sync and not playing the best baseball, we can go the other way with it.”
Jordan Zimmermann will try to turn his recent stretch around, having recently thrown what are probably his worst two starts of the season. In his past two starts, Zimmermann has allowed 12 earned runs in 11 2/3 innings on 15 hits, three of them homers. He’s walked 10 and struck out none, probably a good sign there’s nothing to worry about.
By the end of the game, of course, the Nationals’ may not look exactly like they do right now, especially in their bullpen. As always, talk about the game right here.
