Game 114 discussion thread: Nationals at Rockies

(J)
The Nationals will try to earn a split against the Rockies this afternoon behind John Lannan. The Nationals are 11-5 in his last 16 starts, during which Lannan has a 3.13 ERA while pitching about 6 1/3 innings per start. He’s facing the Rockies for the first time July 8, when a Ty Wigginton line drive hit him in the face; Wigginton is batting fifth for Colorado today.

The Rockies called up right-handed reliever Josh Roenicke, notable because Roenicke is married to Ian Desmond’s sister. So he could be facing his brother-in-law today. Roenicke is also the nephew of Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke and the son of former Orioles outfielder Gary Roenicke.

As always, talk about the game right here.
