The Nationals begin a four-game series on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Left-handed starter Joe Saunders (8-10, 3.91 ERA), a West Springfield graduate, takes the mound for the Diamondbacks and left-hander Ross Detwiler (1-3, 2.87 ERA) for the Nationals.
Both teams split a four-game series in early June. Arizona leads the NL West race by 1 1/2 games over the San Francisco Giants, while the Nationals, winners of their past two series, sit three games under .500.
