Game 138 discussion thread: Nationals vs. Mets

Livan Hernandez, the man who threw the first pitch in Nationals history, will make what could be his final start with the Nationals this afternoon. The Nationals will shut him down for the rest of the season in order to make room for Stephen Strasburg in their rotation. He wants to return next season, but with his contract status uncertain, he may or may not.

As he walked in from the bullpen, the Nationals Park crowd gave him a nice cheer. Hernandez doffed his cap. In his last start this year, Hernandez will try to lead the Nationals to another series win at Nationals Park, where they have won 11 series this season and lost eight. They’ll face big right-hander Mike Pelfrey.

As always, talk about the game right here.
