After Livan Hernandez’s rough start last night, it would not be a stretch to say Jason Marquis has been the Nationals’ best starter during this young season. His 3.26 ERA leads the rotation, and he’s also throw more innings per start – 19 1/3 innings over three outings – than any Nats starter.
Today, he’ll pitch against the Pirates, against whom he had one of his best start of 2010. At PNC Park last year, he allowed one earned runs in six innings on six hits and no walks. He’ll face Kevin Correia, the Pirates opening day starter who’s 3-1 with a 2.48 ERA.
Happy Easter, everyone. Talk about the game right here.
