Game 26 discussion thread: Nationals vs. Giants

Sorry for the delay here. Things got a little busy with the Ryan Zimmerman surgery news.

Anyway, the Nationals and Giants are tied, 1-1, in the fifth, but it feels like anything but a tie. Jonathan Sanchez either issued a walk to or hit seven of the first 10 batters he faced, and the Giants made seven straight outs before producing their first base runner. But the Nationals left the bases loaded in the first two innings and Eli Whiteside hit a solo homer in the third.

Having let Sanchez off the hook, the Nationals have not threatened agai and Rick Ankiel’s RBI single in the second remains their lone hit. Talk about (the rest of) the game right here.
