Game 51 discussion thread: Nationals vs. Padres

As the Nationals try to build on last night’s dramatic win, Rick Ankiel is making his first start since returing from the disabled list. It’s also the first career start batting leadoff for Ankiel, who has a .294 on-base percentage this season and a .311 OBP in his career. “Instead of moving a lot of people around,” Manager Jim Riggleman said, “we’re just going to hit leadoff and make it a clean exchange with [Roger Bernadina] for a day.”

Jordan Zimmermann will try to continue a nice stretch. In his past four starts, he has allowed three or fewer runs in at least six innings each time out while striking out 26 and walking 11.

As always, talk about the game right here.
