The Nationals’ defense on the West Coast has bordered on remarkable. They have not made an error the entire trip and have 95 2/3 consecutive errorless innings, per Nationals p.r. maven, and Pride of Bowling Green, Bill Gluvna. That’s already a Nationals team record. If the Nationals do not make an error behind Jordan Zimmerman in the first two innings, they’ll set a new franchise record.
Also, the Nationals have already tied the franchise record for consecutive games without an error at 10. So, no errors today, and a small slice on baseball history will be made.
Zimmermann, meantime, left Washington almost two weeks ago with two on the season. Today, he can win his third game on this road trip. Zimmermann has a 2.62 ERA over his past seven stars, allowing three runs or less and pitching at least six innings in all of them. In his past two starts, Zimmermann has allowed one run in seven innings.
The Nationals, with Zimmermann batting eighth, will face Tim Stauffer. As always, talk about the game right here. And follow the action here.
