The Nationals will help open Citi Field for 2011 today against the New York Mets, the team with which the punditry has predicted the Nationals will vie for fourth place in the NL East. The Mets got off to a good start, powered largely by Willie Harris, but they got pounded, 11-0, by Roy Halladay and the Phillies yesterday.
Another opening day of interest happened yesterday: the first game for three of the Nationals’ four minor league affiliates. The brightest spot, General Manager Mike Rizzo said, was Class AA Harrisburg starter Brad Meyers. He struck out nine in five scoreless while allowing no walks.
As for today’s major league game, talk about it right here. And follow the action here.
