Danny Espinosa is the only Nationals player to play every game this season, and Davey Johnson doesn’t see a problem with that. “If he was only curling 40-pound weights, I’d probably give him a day off,” Johnson said. “But he’s curling 80-pound weights. He ain’t going to get tired anytime soon.”
The Nationals caught something of a break tonight when the Astros traded second baseman Jeff Keppinger to the Giants. Angel Sanchez will hit second and play second base in his place.
Jordan Zimmermann will make his first start of the second half tonight, one of the seven (or so) remaining appearances he has this season before he reaches his innings limit and the Nationals shut him down. J.A. Happ, a former teammate of Jayson Werth with the Phillies, starts for the Phillies.
As always, talk about the game right here.
