The Nationals have turned this recent of their schedule into something of a rollercoaster. Starting July 4, they won three straight games. Then they lost their next three. And in their past six games, they’ve alternated win-loss-win-loss. The Nationals have not been more than two games over or under .500 since June 17.
The Nationals will try to keep that pattern going for one more day, trying to take a series from the Astros. Losing would be represent a significant missed opportunity, given the Astros’ major league-worst 32-65 record. Livan Hernandez will look to rebound from his crummy second-half opener, when he allowed the Braves six runs, three earned in, in four innings.
Talk about the game right here.
