The Nationals have toggled between two games above and below .500 since June 17, a streak that’s in danger tonight. If the Nationals lose their third straight tonight, they would drop to 48-51, their worst record relative to .500 since they were 33-36 after a win on June 16.
John Lannan will try to prevent a losing streak in his second start since the all-star break. The Nationals are 9-4 in the last 13 games started by Lannan, whose 3.62 ERA ranks second on the team behind Jordan Zimmermann.
The Nationals are playing the Dodgers for the first time this season, and their 15th game on the West Coast. So far, they’re 6-8 in those games.
As always, talk about the game right here.
