Oh, right, there’s a baseball game tonight. Manager-for-now John McLaren is keeping Jayson Werth at the leadoff spot in his first game, and Laynce Nix is the DH. (Jim Riggleman had said he wanted Matt Stairs to DH against righties but, obviously, that’s out the window.) Ian Desmond is hitting ninth (there’s no pitcher, remember) and Roger Bernadins second. White Sox right-hander Edwin Jackson, who, if you recall, was the subject of much Nats trade chatter last summer, is on the mound.
