Nationals at Baltimore: Game 45 discussion thread

Washington’s offensive outpouring during Friday’s 17-5 victory at Baltimore marked the second time in franchise history that the team had recorded six home runs and 17 runs in a single game. The only other time occured July 30, 1978 in a Montreal Expos 19-0 win at Atlanta.

The Nationals also became the fourth team in MLB history to tally as many as 17 runs in a game after being shut out during its two previous contests, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Before last night, it hadn’t happened since May 26, 1964.

Washington will try to continue its offensive success this afternoon. Feel free to offer commentary as the game progresses in the comments section below.
