Nationals at Mets: Game 148 discussion thread

(Greg Fiume - GETTY IMAGES)
Tom Milone will receive a new and potentially telling challenge today in his third major league start. He will face the Mets for the second time and, in a very limited sample, Milone has been dominant when facing batters for the first time but struggled once a team sees him. The first time through the order, opponents are 2 for 16 against him. After that, they’re 12 for 24.

The Mets will also send a call-up to the mound in right-handed Chris Schwinden. The winner of this afternoon’s game will finish the day alone in third place in the National League East. The Nationals have already exceeded their 2010 win total, winning their 70th game last night. They could finish .500 – they would have to go 11-3 in their last 14 games.

As always, talk about the game right here.
