Nationals at Phillies: Game 155 discussion thread

(Christopher Pasatieri - GETTY IMAGES)
Even before they take the field tonight, the Nationals have already gotten an apparent boost from the Cardinals. They were beating the Mets, 6-2, in the eighth inning. If they hold on, the Nationals’ magic number (if you can call it that) to clinch fourth place would go down to four.

The Nationals can go ahead of the Mets by 3 ½ games with Brad Peacock on the mound. In his first career start, Peacock allowed no runs on two hits in five innings. He was not exactly efficient, walking three and throwing 94 pitches, but he was plenty impressive with his mid-90s fastball and huge curveball. Tonight, he faces Roy Oswalt.

As always, talk about the game right here.
