Nationals-Cubs opening day lineups

(Chris Carlson - AP)
The Nationals have not changed their lineup from the one they announced yesterday. The Cubs posted theirs this morning. As we already knew, Ryan Dempster will pitch. He’s the kind of sinkerball pitcher who gives the Nationals trouble, like Derek Lowe, who last year helped shut out the Nationals opening day. Over the past two seasons, Dempster has held the Nationals to four earned runs in 22 innings over three starts, striking out 20 while walking only four.

Here’s how the Cubs will attack Stephen Strasburg:

1. David DeJesus, RF

2. Darwin Barney, 2B

3. Starlin Castro, SS

4. Alfonso Soriano, LF

5. Ian Stewart 3B,

6. Jeff Baker, 1B

7. Marlon Byrd, CF

8. Geovany Soto, C

9. Ryan Dempster, SP

And as a reminder, the Nationals:

1. Ian Desmond, SS

2. Danny Espinosa, 2B

3. Ryan Zimmerman, 3B

4. Adam LaRoche, 1B

5. Jayson Werth, RF

6. Mark DeRosa, LF

7. Roger Bernadina, CF

8. Wilson Ramos, C

9. Stephen Strasburg, SP
