Nationals hand out contracts to 17 zero-to-three players; Drew Storen, Roger Bernadina renewed

(Jonathan Newton)
The Nationals officially handed out contracts to all of the players with zero-to-three years of service time on their 40-man roster, agreeing to terms with 15 players while renewing the contracts of Roger Bernadina and Drew Storen.

Essentially, Storen and Bernadina wanted a larger raise than the Nationals offered, but teams can dictate the salaries of players who have yet to qualify for salary arbitration. All players with between zero-and-three years of service make somewhere around the league minimum.

The 15 players the Nationals agree to terms with: left-handed pitchers Ross Detwiler and Atahualpa Severino, right-handed pitchers Cole Kimball, Ryan Mattheus, Ryan Perry, Henry Rodriguez, Craig Stammen, catchers Wilson Ramos and Jhonatan Solano, infielders Ian Desmond, Danny Espinosa, Steve Lombardozzi, Chris Marrero and Tyler Moore, and outfielder Eury Perez.
