Three makes a trend, right? So, if the Nationals decide that nine innings
aren’t enough to decide a game again, it will be. Following two straight walk-off extra-inning wins, the Nationals can at least claim the series against the Reds with a win Saturday.
Washington leaves its hopes in starter Edwin Jackson (0-0, 5.40 ERA), who makes his second start of the season after allowing three runs on four hits over five innings against the Mets earlier this week.
The righty will take the mound against another righthander, Homer Bailey (0-1, 6.35 ERA).
