It’s 98 degrees and Stephen Strasburg is on the mound for the first time since his scary, as Manager Davey Johnson put it, episode in the oppressive Atlanta heat last weekend. Strasburg (9-3, 2.81) hopes to rebound following his three-inning start, tied for the shortest of his career. He will face the Rockies, who are tied for the worst record in baseball. The Nationals are 25-7 in games started by Strasburg or left-hander Gio Gonzalez.
Also, happy midway point of the season! This is game 81. Talk about it and the heat here, as always.
