The Nationals are looking to win their eighth game in their last nine and get starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann a victory. Zimmermann is 0-1 this season despite allowing just two earned runs in 14 innings.
The Nationals also have a chance to claim the best record in baseball, albeit extremely early in the season, if the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers both lose.
Washington, which is 7-3 over its last 10 games, enters tonight’s game against Houston two games in front of the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves for first place in the NL East.
