Nationals vs. Astros: Game 143 discussion thread

Last night’s game included an argument that Ryan Zimmerman turned into a moment of levity. In his second at-bat, Astros pitcher Bud Norris threw an 0-2 pitch as Zimmerman was still digging into the box. Zimmerman called time, which the umpire granted.

On the mound, Norris stuck out his arms, palms up, and yelled at Zimmerman, upset about the late time call. Zimmerman back to Norris that he was not allowed to do what he did. As the Astros bench joined in chirping at Zimmerman, he rushed into the box and mockingly took his stance. “If you can’t laugh on Sept. 9,” Zimmerman said, “then you need to get out of here.”

The at-bat ended when Zimmerman grounded out to third. As for tonight, John Lannan goes for a career-high 10th win against Wandy Rodriguez. As always, talk about the game right here.
