The Nationals are riding a five-game winning streak, having won every game since Stephen Strasburg last pitched. Over the past few days, the Nationals have anticipated playing the Braves, who are fighting for their lives in the wild-card race. For the next three days, they’ll be feeding off the intensity of a desperate team.
“We’re in a pennant race, and I think it’s great for my young players,” Manager Davey Johnson said. “Even though we’re not the ones who are playing for the postseason, it’s going to still feel like a pennant race. That’s a good experience to go through.”
Strasburg will also face Tim Hudson, who’s constantly tough on the Nationals. As always, talk about the game right here.
