So far, the rain has held off and the first game of today’s doubleheader will start on time. The forecast seems touch and go, but for now the Nationals and Dodgers are playing. The Nationals will try to reverse a recent skid that has seen them lose 11 of 14 games. They have not won consecutive games since Aug. 21 and 22.
In Game 1, the Nationals will face Chad Billingsley, who dominated them in odd way earlier this season in Los Angeles. Billingsley allowed the first four batters he faced to reach base, then stranded the bases loaded and retired 21 of the next 22 Nationals. He’ll face Chien-Ming Wang, who has pitched at least 5 2/3 innings in five straight outings.
As always, talk about the game right here.
