John Lannan, called up to pitch the first game of the doubleheader, makes his second start for the Nationals this season. He tossed seven strong innings on July 21 to stop a two-game skid against the Atlanta Braves. He returns to face the Marlins, who have one of the lowest scoring offense and worst bullpens in the league. Before the game, the Nationals announced a trade for Oakland Athletics catcher Kurt Suzuki. Bryce Harper will sit the first game, as will Michael Morse, who is dealing with a stomach virus.
As always, talk about the game here.
