Jordan Zimmermann (6-6, 2.48 ERA) takes the mound for the Nationals, opposing New York Mets right-hander Chris Young (2-3, 4.28 ERA). Zimmermann, who Manager Davey Johnson says could just as easily be a rotation’s No. 1 pitcher, has been incredibly consistent. He has the eighth-best ERA in the majors, has the ninth-best walks per nine innings ratio (1.78) and is tied for the major league lead with 16 quality starts. Zimmerman has a career 2-2 record with a 3.56 in nine starts against the Mets.
As always, talk about the game here.
