It’s funny and crazy how things work. Jayson Werth broke his left wrist making a diving play on May 6 against the Philadelphia Phillies in a game left-hander Cole Hamels started. And, after nearly three months away recovering from that injury, Werth returns to the Nationals lineup, hitting sixth and playing center field. And guess who he returns against? Yes, the Phillies and Hamels is again on the mound.
Oh, and the Nationals are trying to snap a two-game losing streak and stay ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East standings. And Ryan Zimmerman is back in the lineup. And Ross Detwiler is on the mound, looking to rebound from a 4 2/3-inning start last time out. A lot going on, right?
As always, talk about the game here.
