Nationals vs. Rockies discussion thread: Game 83

(Patrick Semansky - AP)
The Nationals now have four all-stars, with Bryce Harper’s addition to the roster on Saturday. On Sunday, however, the team’s leader in ERA (2.70) and innings (103 1/3) among starters takes the mound and he isn’t an all-star. Jordan Zimmermann, who often lacked run support when he pitched, has won his past two decisions behind plenty of scoring.

Manager Davey Johnson made his way around the clubhouse on Sunday morning, shaking hands with players individually. He told them to relax over the all-star break, stay healthy and be ready for the pennant race in the second half.

“Don’t be riding no horses and jet skiing or anything like that,” Johnson said he told players. “We’re a little bit worried about [Adam] LaRoche. He said something about a horse. Don’t you get on no horse.”

As always, talk about the game here. Horses, too.
