Saturday’s Nationals lineup: doubleheader Game 2

By tomorrow at 1:35 p.m., the Nationals will begin their third game in less than 24 hours.

With the Chicago Cubs traveling to the District on Monday to begin a four-game series, Johnson changed the lineup from Game 1 to give some rest to a couple of players, including Laynce Nix and Ivan Rodriguez. They’ll need it. The Nationals’ next break won’t come for another eight days.

Rick Ankiel, who hit a pinch hit home run in Game 1, will start at centerfield Johnson always thought Jayson Werth would be an ideal five-hole hitter. For the first time this season, Werth will bat fifth.
