Today’s Nationals-Astros lineups

With left-hander J.A. Happ starting for the Astros, Davey Johnson is trying something different at the top of the lineup, batting Danny Espinosa at leadoff and Roger Bernadina seventh. Espinosa, the team leader with 17 home runs, hit leadoff in 19 games earlier this year, batting .184/.250/.329 in those games.

With Espinosa hitting first, Ian Desmond is hitting second. Laynce Nix is out of the lineup, and Jerry Hairston, a day after being activated from the 15-day disabled list, will start in left field.
