Today’s Nationals-Giants lineups: Michael Morse returns, Melky Cabrera suspended

The Nationals will finish up their series against the Giants this afternoon with Stephen Strasburg on the mound. Both Jayson Werth and Michael Morse are back in the lineup. Manager Davey Johnson thought Morse may not return until Friday, but his inflamed right thumb “miraculously” recovered, he said. Morse had left Monday’s game with swelling his thumb after getting jammed and did not play yesterday.

The Giants, meanwhile, absorbed an absolute bombshell this morning. MLB announced it suspended Melky Cabrera for 50 games for using a banned substance, which was testosterone. He is in this, the Giants’ original lineup, but, um, we can expect a change.
