Today’s Nationals-Giants lineups

Danny Espinosa gets his first day off since early in the season, one of many changes today’s Nationals’ lineup. Adam LaRoche moves from cleanup to fifth, with Laynce Nix getting the start in left and at the heart of the Nationals’ order. Nix, it seems, is starting move into at least something of a platoon with Michael Morse in left. His strong performance has earned more chances.

In Espinosa’s place at the leadoff spot, against right-hander Matt Cain, is Jerry Hairston. He’ll play third, and Alex Cora will take second base.
