Today’s Phillies-Nationals lineups

After Danny Espinosa got the day off yesterday, Ian Desmond will start today on the bench, with Alex Cora taking his place. Desmond, who has started 46 of 52 games this year, has been battling some soreness in his hip, but it’s nothing that has affected his playing status. I would guess this is more of a day off for the sake of a day off and not anything injury related. Cora also gets another left-handed hitter in the lineup against the great Roy Halladay. We’ll find out.

Also, Rick Ankiel is back in center field. The past four days, Ankiel and Roger Bernadina have alternated in the leadoff spot and center.
