Nationals right-handed starter Chien-Ming Wang, who has been nursing a strained hamstring in extended spring training in Viera since mid-March, is on target to return in late April, Manager Davey Johnson said. Wang, who hurt his leg muscle on March 15 and is on the 15-day disabled list, hadn’t thrown off the mound until recently.
“He’s doing very well,” Johnson said. “He’s been throwing off the mound. He’s been doing a lot of running. Again, he’s ahead of the program. We anticipate him being back toward the end of this month. So he has had no setbacks. He’s doing great.”
