It’s the final game of the regular season and, even though the Nationals have clinched the NL East, their playoff schedule hinges on Wednesday’s results. If the Nationals win, they will finish with the top seed in the NL and play the winner of Friday’s one game wildcard game on Sunday. If they lose, and the Cincinnati Reds win, the Nationals will travel to San Francisco to play on Saturday. If the both Nationals and the Reds win, the Nationals are still the top seed by virtue of winning the season series. Edwin Jackson (9-11, 4.13 ERA) seeks to become the fifth Nationals starter with double digit wins, and he is opposed by Cliff Lee (6-8, 3.12 ERA). As you normally do, talk about the game here.
