Nationals-Cardinals will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nationals Park

Game 3 of the NLDS, the first home game in Nationals history, will begin at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday at Nationals Park and will be broadcast on MLB Network. We’ll have more information shortly on how you can make sure to see the game if you do not have MLB Network.

Nationals Manager Davey Johnson had worried about at a potential 4 p.m. start at Nationals Park. The sun at that hour makes life miserable for outfielders. In one afternoon start this month, both Bryce Harper and Jayson Werth lost balls in what Harper infamously dubbed, “The Sun Monster.”

“The only point I’m concerned about is the one at home — I hope it’s no 4 o’clock,” Johnson said. “We have a terrible sun field, and I hate for games to be decided because somebody happens to hit one in the sun. About 4, 5 p.m., that’s when the sun is really terrible at our place.”

On the broadcast, Bob Costas and Jim Kaat will announce the game.
